The recent dip in house prices in the South West, which saw reductions from two per cent in Bath (where the average house price has dropped to £382,000 in the year to June)* to nearly 18 per cent in other regions, has created a 'patchwork' market as some areas are falling harder than others.

To take advantage of this 'buyer's window' in a competitive but cooling market, the South West Homebuilding & Renovating Show, taking place between 15-16 November 2025 at the Bath & West Showground, Somerset, will offer visitors the chance to add value to their properties by investing in high-quality, energy-efficient renovation upgrades and smart design to help their homes stand out from the crowd.

The South West Homebuilding & Renovating Show is packed with over 140 exhibitors showcasing hundreds of brands and products, designed to assist homeowners in fulfilling their dream project – whether that's a self-build, an extension, or futureproofing their homes to make them smarter and more sustainable.

Free one-to-one consultations from property experts, including Homebuilding & Renovating's Michael Holmes, David Hilton and Sally Tagg as well as self-build expert Mark Stevenson, quantity surveyor Tim Phillips, design specialist and architect Allan Corfield, and finance expert Tom McSherry, will enable homeowners to discuss their concrete plans and address any burning issues.

Michael Holmes, property expert at the Homebuilding & Renovating Show, says, "While there has been a small dip in the house price market recently, Bath still commands a premium in the marketplace.  By investing in quality design, energy-efficient renovations, and smart building features, homeowners can create standout homes that add value in their local market."

The South West Homebuilding & Renovating Show opens at 10am to 5pm on 15 November and 10am to 4:30pm on 16 November.  Tickets are priced at £24 for a pair.  Under 16s go free.  To access free tickets to the show on any one day, click on this link.
