Last week (Tuesday 16th May), local housebuilder David Wilson Homes North Thames welcomed the Mayor of Buckingham Margaret Gateley, staff and children from Field House Day Nursery, and Sam Roberts, resident of the development, to officially mark the opening of the ‘Saints Steeple Park’ at St Rumbold’s Fields in Buckingham.

On the day, senior representatives from David Wilson North Thames met with the Mayor of Buckingham to officially mark the unveiling of the first park at the development after a park naming competition with local residents, with the winner, Sam Roberts, also in attendance. The park, located on Toki Road, has been named ‘Saints Steeple Park’, as the park overlooks the steeple of Buckingham Parish Church which is named after multiple saints, located in the town.

Children and staff from Field Day Nursery, which is situated next door to the development, also came along to mark the event and test out the new amenities in the park, including swings, a slide and a zip wire. The day also was an opportunity for guests to see the progress which has been made thus far and discuss the future plans for the development, alongside enjoying a tour around the David Wilson show home, ‘The Bracebridge’.

Cllr Margaret Gateley, Mayor of Buckingham, comments: “It was a pleasure to be invited down to the development to officially unveil the park. It was lovely to be able to talk to the team at David Wilson Homes North Thames about the progress of one of our local developments here in Buckingham and to find out more about the future of the site. The children from Field Day Nursery also had a wonderful time, and it is so important for new homes developments to have open space for children to be able to play freely outside. Thank you so much to the team at David Wilson Homes North Thames for inviting me down again, and I am looking forward to following the progress at St Rumbold’s Fields.”

Marc Woolfe, Head of Sales at David Wilson Homes North Thames, added: “We are pleased to officially open the Saint Steeple Park at the development, which is the first of three parks we are building here at St Rumbold’s Fields. At David Wilson North Thames, we are committed to making sure there is ample open green space for residents to enjoy and to create thriving communities. The day was a great opportunity to discuss the development with the Mayor, including talking to the nursery and how the park will benefit them, and a resident to see their experience of living at St Rumbold’s Fields so far. I would like to thank all those who came on the day to open the park including the Mayor, Field Day Nursery and Sam Roberts.”

Lucy Piosek, Deputy Manager at Field Day Nursery added “The children had an absolutely wonderful day at the park and enjoyed the food and drink provided at the show home! We are really excited to be able to benefit from the new amenities at St Rumbold’s Fields, especially as a number of our children live at the development. The children enjoyed playing on the new zip wire – thank you so much David Wilson North Thames for inviting us to share the special occasion with them.”

Just one four-bedroom home remains at David Wilson’s St Rumbold’s Fields on Toki Road priced at £550,000 with a further selection of two to four-bedroom homes on Tingewick Road with Barratt Homes from £279,950.
