Boyer achieves Planning Consent for Richborough Estates in March, Cambridgeshire
National planning consultancy Boyer (part of Leaders Romans Group) has secured a resolution to grant planning permission on behalf of Richborough Estates for 125 homes in March, Cambridgeshire. The resolution was awarded by Fenland District Council.
The five hectare site off Princess Avenue will host 125 homes in a range of types and sizes, located in attractive, green, publicly accessible open spaces which will include a children’s play area. 20% of the homes will be on-site affordable housing, providing much needed homes for those most in need, in an area with rapidly rising house prices.
The planning discussions ensured that the new development satisfactorily addresses issues including drainage and adaptations to the road layout.
Simon Atha, Director in Boyer’s Midlands office said, ‘This was a real team effort from ourselves, Richborough Estates and wider design team to deliver a great outcome for March. The market town is understandably popular and the provision of new homes, specifically affordable housing, will go some way to addressing the shortage of homes in Cambridgeshire.
‘In securing this planning consent we undertook extensive and proactive engagement with officers at Fenland District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council. This has ensured that the scheme will put in place the right infrastructure to deliver a high quality scheme that will contribute positively to the wider West of March strategic allocation.’
Alex Anderson, Regional Director of Richborough Estates said, ‘A huge thanks to everyone involved in securing committee approval, including Fenland Council who were proactive throughout the process.’
Richborough Estates plans to begin marketing the site in May, with a view to securing a housebuilder partner in the summer.
