Boyer achieves Planning Consent for Torbay Development Agency in Paignton
Leading planning and design consultancy, Boyer (part of Leaders Romans Group) has secured full planning consent on behalf of Torbay Development Agency (TDA) for the development of 101 homes on the western edge of Paignton. The resolution was awarded by Torbay Council’s Planning Committee on 30 May.
The 4.02ha vacant site, located on both sides of Preston Down Road in Paignton will deliver a landscape-led development with a variety of homes: from one to four bedroom units. 30% will be affordable housing and the new homes will go some way towards meeting the Council’s five year housing land supply.
Boyer coordinated and project managed the application from the pre-application stage through to the planning committee decision, working closely with the TDA team and council officers to overcome ecology and lighting challenges and achieve a positive outcome.
Jemma Shorrock, associate director in Boyer’s Cardiff office said, ‘We are delighted to have achieved this planning consent on behalf of TDA. This is a well thought-through scheme which will deliver much needed homes to this popular town.’
In achieving planning success, Boyer worked alongside technical consultants at Torbay Development, Agency, architects LHC Design, lighting consultant Lighting Bee and environmental consultants Burton Reid Associates.
