Yapton nursery children become builders for the morning at Ryebank Gate development
On Wednesday 19th April, children from Potter’s House Pre School took a trip to their neighbouring David Wilson Homes Ryebank Gate development on Drove Lane, Yapton, to take part in an interactive site visit hosted by the housebuilder’s site team.
The children were provided with hard hats and hi-vis before being taken on a tour of the show home garden to see the ecological features in place to support local wildlife. They met with David Wilson Southern Counties’ site team to learn about staying safe near a construction site, and observe equipment used to build new homes, before taking a seat in one of the diggers.
Kimberley Benson, Sales and Marketing Director for David Wilson Southern Counties, commented: “As a responsible housebuilder, it is important for us to begin introducing the next generation to our exciting industry, and we were proud to invite the children from Potter’s House Pre School to learn about staying safe and seen near a construction development, and watch our diggers in action.”
Sally-Ann, Manager at Potters House Pre School, added: “The children loved wearing their hard hats and hi-vis vests, really making them look the part on the construction site. We all had a fantastic time learning about how a house is built, the materials used and what a building site looks like and especially enjoyed seeing the digger up close.”
