Care home residents in Oughtibridge have been treated to a donation of Afternoon Tea thanks to 5 Star Homebuilder, Barratt Homes Yorkshire West.

Residents at Coumes Brook Care Home received a selection of freshly made sandwiches, scones, cakes and other sweet treats from Barratt Homes Yorkshire West to the nation's favourite summertime tradition.

Prepared by Ginger Grazing Co, the hampers were donated to encourage the residents to come together and boost morale. Barratt Homes Yorkshire West, which has its The Mews, Oughtibridge Valley development in Oughtibridge, regularly supports the local community with donations and runs fun and educational activities with nearby schools.

Jill Crook, Home Manager at Coumes Brook Care Home said: “It was such a treat. We’re hugely grateful to Barratt Homes Yorkshire West for giving our residents an enjoyable afternoon. Activities that bring everyone together are really important for our residents as they are significant in improving mental and social wellbeing.”

Ian Ruthven, Managing Director of Barratt Homes Yorkshire West added: “We’re really pleased we’ve been able to make a difference to the residents’ week with this donation. We’re committed to supporting the communities in which we build and improving the lives of people living close to our developments is something we’re continuing to focus on.”
