Broadband coverage and speeds in the South West

New House of Commons Library analysis of UK broadband coverage and speed show the variations in broadband availability and speeds in the region. For example, Devon has average download speeds varying from double the UK average to less than half.

In Devon: 

The area with the highest gigabit broadband availability is Ivybridge in South Hams (84.4%). Gigabit availability in the UK as a whole is 26.7%.

The area with the lowest superfast broadband availability is Lifton, Lamerton & Bridestowe in West Devon (46.4%). Superfast availability in the UK as a whole is 94.9%.

The area with the highest average download speed is Cranbrook, Broadclyst & Stoke Canon in East Devon (141.6 Mbps).

The area with the lowest average download speed is Lifton, Lamerton & Bridestowe in West Devon (29.1 Mbps). The average download speed in the UK as a whole is 72.9 Mbps.
